ABOUT US
Teachico Tutoring is a student-run organization founded by a group of University of Calgary students with the goal of supporting student education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Classrooms have shifted online, creating unprecedented barriers for student learning. By providing free online tutoring to all students through the Kindergarten to Grade 12 level, we hope to provide the resources students need to succeed academically. Additionally, the education we provide is based on the Alberta curriculum, allowing any student from Alberta to join.
As of November 2020, we have over 50 students and 40 tutors actively a part of Teachico Tutoring.
OUR MISSION
We provide free online tutoring to K-12 students in Alberta. We believe in the importance of accessible and affordable learning supports for students of all backgrounds and aim to help our students reach their highest potential.

We believe that education should be accessible to all, regardless of your financial situation or background. That is why we strive to provide tutoring to anyone who needs it, cost-free.
MENTORSHIP
Our focus is more than simply helping our students learn their course material, but also being mentors for them. Being university students ourselves, we know the struggles of school and can guide/advice our students in their educational endeavours ahead.
ONLINE
We value your time and try to make learning as efficient as possible. With online tutoring, you don't need to worry about time spent commuting, and can seek our services from the comfort of your home. We can tutor anyone in Alberta!
WE CARE
We recognize that the financial situation of many individuals varies and we will strive to accomodate our services to meet those needs, By being flexible in our schedules and providing one-on-one support, we wish to create a strong bond between our students and tutors.

You get to help out your community and be a beacon of light for your student. Tutoring is an honourable position to be in as it allows you to share your expertise as well as reinforce your own knowledge.
FLEXIBILITY
Due to our services being online, there is more room for flexibility in scheduling tutoring sessions between the student and tutor. Both individual needs are accounted for.
MENTORSHIP
As a volunteer tutor, you not only get to help your student get good grades, but you also get to be a mentor for your student. With our one-on-one tutoring, we encourage our tutors to develop a strong bond with their students and guide them in their academic journeys ahead.

As our organization grows, we seek diverse opinions and voices to fuel our progress and accomplish our mission. These opportunities will give volunteers a chance to partake in leadership roles and decisions.
